Cultivating a Joyful Heart

An Online Retreat on April 10

For happiness one needs security, but joy can spring like a flower even from the cliffs of despair.
— Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Most of us struggle with meditation from time to time. It’s not easy to sit with troublesome thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations when they are present. What we hoped for when we sat down — a calming experience — can seem out of reach. We may feel discontent. We may lose confidence in ourselves or in the practice. We may give up.

Don’t give up. We can overcome our sense of frustration and discontent in meditation by inclining the mind to that which is joyful. On this retreat we will work with directing our thoughts towards forgiveness, acceptance, unconditional love, goodwill, and appreciation of our own good qualities. Cultivating these joyful qualities of heart calms body and mind, opening the way to deeper levels of meditation and more well being in day to day life.

Join us for a daylong online retreat.
